Recap: Salem Rams vs. Clayton Clippers
The Salem Rams suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Thursday. They suffered a rough 63-38 defeat at the hands of Clayton. Salem has struggled against Clayton recently, as their match on Thursday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Rainelle Blocker continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Clayton, almost dropping a triple-double on 22 points, 21 rebounds, and nine steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Blocker has scored at least a third of Clayton's points. Another player making a difference was Jordyn Jones, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 18 rebounds.
Salem's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Clayton, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 6-6 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Salem will challenge Paulsboro on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in New Jersey (Paulsboro is ranked 305th, while Salem is ranked 321st). As for Clayton, they will head out on the road to square off against Sterling at 1:00 a.m. on Saturday. Sterling has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
