Basketball Recap: Caney Valley Comes Up Short

After flying high against Fredonia last Thursday, Caney Valley came back down to earth. The Caney Valley Bullpups were just a bucket shy of victory on Friday and fell 52-51 to the Commerce Tigers. The Bullpups haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Caney Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Commerce, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 15-2.

Looking ahead, Caney Valley will venture away from home to take on Dewey at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Commerce, they and Jay will face off at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday without much rest, having both just played.
