Menlo-Atherton had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 7 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Lynbrook Vikings as they made off with an 18-2 victory. That looming 18-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Bears yet this season.

Gracy Nava made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Juliana Pandolfo was a standout: she scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in doubles (two). Olivia Rodgers was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-3.

Menlo-Atherton always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .760. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Menlo-Atherton's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Lynbrook, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season.
