Baseball Recap: Booneville Triumphs

Booneville posted their closest win since April 11, 2024 on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Jackson Christian Eagles 6-5.

JJ Simmons looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Colin Flurry was excellent, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Booneville's record now sits at 4-8. As for Jackson Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-2.

Looking ahead, Booneville will face off against Hamilton at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. Booneville is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season. As for Jackson Christian, they will challenge Tupelo at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
