Basketball Recap: St. Francis Comes Up Short

St. Francis has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They lost 79-58 to the Notre Dame (SO) Knights on Thursday. While losing is never fun, the Golden Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while the Knights are ranked eighth).

St. Francis' loss dropped their record down to 13-6. As for Notre Dame (SO), their win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-2.

St. Francis will square off against Crespi at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Crespi knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past 11 games -- so hopefully St. Francis likes a good challenge. As for Notre Dame (SO), they will face off against Columbus at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Notre Dame (SO)'s favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four matches.
