Football Recap: Sun Valley Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Sun Valley's game on Friday was all tied up 14-14 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They were beaten by the Mooresville Blue Devils 49-14.

Mooresville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brody Norman led the charge by throwing for 170 yards and three TDs, while also rushing for 50 yards and one touchdown. The bulk of those rushing yards came from one huge play: a run that gained an incredible 53 yards. Ja'Darius McCombs was another key rusher, rushing for 138 yards on only nine carries.

Sun Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Mooresville, they pushed their record up to 1-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.

Sun Valley and Mooresville should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. The Spartans will face off against Parkwood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday with a big rank advantage (52 vs. 211). Meanwhile, Mooresville (ranked 17th) will meet A.L. Brown (ranked 102nd) at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
