Baseball Recap: Bishop Mclaughlin Catholic Starts Season with Win Against Hudson

Bishop McLaughlin Catholic took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 10-2 margin over the Hudson Cobras. The Hurricanes have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cobras, too.

Noah Cartiglia looked comfortable as he tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (three).

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Keith Jacobs, who scored a run while going 2-for-2. Christopher Rodriguez was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bishop McLaughlin Catholic will venture away from home to challenge Hernando at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Hudson, they are taking a road trip to square off against Pasco at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
