Football Recap: Granada's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Granada entered their tilt with Carondelet on Tuesday with five consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with six. They put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 27-7 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Matadors' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 75th, while the Cougars are ranked 368th).

Granada didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Sophia Miller and Marin Lnenicka. Miller got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Granada's victory bumped their record up to 9-4. As for Carondelet, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.

Looking ahead, Granada will challenge California at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Matadors 10.8, the Grizzlies 7.1) so any points scored will be well earned. As for Carondelet, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 59-0 win against Sonoma Valley on the 18th.
