Volleyball Recap: Brownstown Central Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Victory

Brownstown Central waltzed into their match on Thursday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Salem Lions. That's more bragging rights for the Braves, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Brownstown Central took every set by at least 12 points. The final score came out to 25-5, 25-13, 25-11.

Brownstown Central had a senior duo take command as Sophie Wischmeier had 18 kills, eight digs, and one block and Finley Wheeler had four digs and two aces. Wischmeier is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had five or more in each of the last 43 games she's played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was Brailey Teipen, who had five kills and two aces.

Brownstown Central's win bumped their record up to 23-4. As for Salem, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-19.

Looking ahead, Brownstown Central will be taking part in a tournament against Mt. Vernon at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Salem, after both having extra time off, they and Crawford County will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
