Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Thornton

Thornton waltzed into their game on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Thornridge Falcons as they made off with a 16-1 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 26-14 on Monday.

The team relied heavily on Antoine Bishop, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, five stolen bases, and three runs. He is becoming a predictor of Thornton's success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is 5-1-1 (and 3-7 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Lamar Dawson, who went 2-for-3 with six stolen bases and three runs.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Thornton kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

The victory got Thornton back to even at 8-8-1. As for Thornridge, their loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-9.

Thornton will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Falcons: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
