Basketball Preview: Salmen Spartans vs. De La Salle Cavalier

The Salmen Spartans will be playing in front of their home fans against the De La Salle Cavalier at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Salmen has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Salmen's strategy against the Rebels on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Salmen blew the Rebels out of the water with a 69-36 final score.

Destiny Bennett continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 23 points along with six assists and five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kendal Thomas, who scored 11 points along with eight assists and three steals.

Meanwhile, De La Salle made easy work of the Swamp Owls last Monday and carried off a 52-32 victory. The victory was just what De La Salle needed coming off of a 73-34 defeat in their prior match.

Salmen pushed their record up to 14-15 with that victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.4 points per game. As for De La Salle, their win bumped their record up to 8-15.

Salmen barely slipped by the Cavalier in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, winning 53-52. Does Salmen have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Cavalier turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
