After a string of three wins, Lansing Catholic's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a 54-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Holt Rams. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Cougars came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 116th, while the Rams are ranked 329th).

When it comes to explaining why Lansing Catholic lost, don't look at Drew Tolfree. Despite the final result, he went 5 for 12 on his way to 21 points and three steals. Tolfree has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Seth Hahnenberg, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.

Lansing Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Holt, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-6.

Lansing Catholic will venture away from home to face off against Eaton Rapids at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Holt, they will host Everett at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
