Preview: Charles Page Sandites vs. Owasso Rams
The Charles Page Sandites will head out on the road to face off against the Owasso Rams at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Charles Page focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Tuesday.
Charles Page couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They fell to Edmond Memorial 59-55. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Deke Thompson, who scored 23 points along with 4 steals. Kooper Kelly was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with 4 steals.
Meanwhile, Owasso had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They managed a 47-43 victory over Enid on Tuesday.
Owasso can attribute much of their success to Cody Lechlider, who scored 13 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals. Another player making a difference was Boden Williams, who scored 11 points.
Charles Page's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Owasso, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Charles Page might still be hurting after the 57-34 loss they got from Owasso in their previous matchup back in February. Can Charles Page avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
