Baseball Recap: Livermore Cowboys vs. Rancho Cotate Cougars

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Livermore can now relate to. They fell just short of the Rancho Cotate Cougars by a score of 12-10 on Saturday. The Cowboys were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in March of 2017.

Hayden Maas made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Vassallo, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Livermore's defeat dropped their record down to 14-12. As for Rancho Cotate, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-12.

Livermore does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Rancho Cotate, they will face off against Tamalpais at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Red Tailed Hawks' pitching crew has only allowed 2.7 runs per game this season, so the Cougars' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
