Basketball Game Preview: Gilbert Tigers vs. Carlisle Wildcats

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Gilbert Tigers take on the Carlisle Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday... Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Gilbert is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Pella just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 79-72 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Dutch. The loss was the Tigers' first of the season.

Meanwhile, Carlisle ended up a good deal behind Ballard on Tuesday and lost 79-60. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 142nd, while the Bombers are ranked first).

Carlisle now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Gilbert, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 5-1.

Everything came up roses for Gilbert against Carlisle in their previous meeting back in February, as the squad secured a 78-42 win. Does Gilbert have another victory up their sleeve, or will Carlisle turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
