Softball Recap: Benilde-St. Margaret's Find Success

After losing to Chaska the last time they met, Benilde-St. Margaret decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Red Knights walked away with an 8-3 win over the Hawks on Monday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Red Knights.

Mallory Held spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, Brooklyn Riley was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cece Hanson, who went 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.

Benilde-St. Margaret's victory bumped their record up to 4-7. As for Chaska, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-8.

Benilde-St. Margaret's wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 10-3 defeat against St. Louis Park on the 29th. As for Chaska, they have also already played their next game, an 8-4 win against Eastview on the 29th.
