Basketball Recap: Taylor Comes Up Short

Taylor was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They were dealt a 62-29 defeat at the hands of the Northfield Norsemen. The Titans were not able to make up for their loss to the Norsemen from their previous meeting back in December of 2023.

Despite the loss, Taylor still got an impressive performance from Jallainah Harris, who posted 17 points along with five boards and five steals. Harris is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games.

Elli Baker was her usual excellent self, going 8 of 12 en route to 20 points and four blocks for Northfield. With that strong performance, Baker is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Callie Hoffman, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 boards.

Taylor's defeat dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Northfield, the win got them back to even at 4-4.

Taylor and Clinton Prairie will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Taylor is facing Clinton Prairie at the right time seeing as Clinton Prairie is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Northfield, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 48-34 victory against Southwood on the 13th.
