Football Recap: Cy-Fair Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Chase Sanders and Sean Riegler + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Cy-Fair can now relate to. They took a 35-24 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lamar Texans on Friday. The Bobcats were not able to make up for their loss to the Texans from their previous meeting back in November of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Cy-Fair had strong showings from Sean Riegler, who threw for 242 yards and two TDs while completing 72.2% of his passes, and Chase Sanders, who picked up 140 receiving yards and one touchdown.

Lamar's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Larry Sanders, who rushed for 155 yards and a pair of scores on only 11 carries. Sanders' longest rush was for an impressive 53 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Jayden Robins helped out on the ground, rushing for 89 yards.

Cy-Fair's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Lamar, the victory was the eighth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 8-3.

Cy-Fair does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lamar, they will face off against Strake Jesuit at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Texans will need to watch out since the Fighting Crusaders have now posted at least 31 points in their last eight games.
