Softball Recap: Tomball Picks Up 15th Consecutive Victory

Tomball won the last time they faced Tomball Memorial and things went their way on Friday too. The Cougars came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 10-6. Winning may never get old, but the Cougars sure are getting used to it with their 15th in a row.

Regina Amaya tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over 5.1 innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Emma Davis was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with one home run and three RBI. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Molly Mccormack, who scored a run while going 3-for-3.

Tomball pushed their record up to 21-3 with the win, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Tomball Memorial, with the defeat, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 15-9-1.
