Softball Game Preview: Modoc Braves vs. Fall River Bulldogs

For the second straight game, Modoc will face off against Fall River. The Braves will welcome the Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Modoc has three straight victories, Fall River has six straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Modoc is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They put the hurt on Fall River with a sharp 22-2 win on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Braves, who have now won four contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Caelli DePaul made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 5-for-6 with four runs, two triples, and five RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024.

In other batting news, Modoc got a massive performance out of Macy Benson, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Those three runs gave Benson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Aaliyah Sevilla, who scored three runs while going 2-for-2.

Modoc's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-8. The road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Fall River, their loss dropped their record down to 1-9.
