Softball Recap: Nazareth Academy Has No Trouble Against Little Flower Catholic for Girls

While Nazareth Academy put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Little Flower Catholic for Girls. Nazareth Academy put the hurt on Little Flower Catholic for Girls with a sharp 11-0 win. Nazareth Academy might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by seven runs or more this season.

Jill DiMario made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over four innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-3. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season.

In other pitching news, Casey Derouin looked comfortable as she pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.

Back at the plate, the team relied heavily on Keiragh Krzywicki, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3. Another player making a difference was Brea Logan, who scored two runs while going 1-for-3.

Nazareth Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .435. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Little Flower Catholic for Girls only posted a batting average of .250.

The victory made it two in a row for Nazareth Academy and bumps their season record up to 5-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 0 runs in those games. As for Little Flower Catholic for Girls, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Coming up, Nazareth Academy will head out on the road to challenge Merion Mercy Academy at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Little Flower Catholic for Girls, they will face off against Abington Friends at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Little Flower Catholic for Girls will need to watch out since Abington Friends has now posted at least ten runs every time they've taken the field this season.
