Basketball Recap: Dale Extends Winning Streak to Eight

Dale had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 41.6 points) and they went ahead and made it eight on Friday. They came within four points of losing the streak, but they secured a 45-41 W against the Howe Lions. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked sixth, while the Lions are ranked 41st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Several Lions players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jazz Harrison, who shot 56% from the field en route to 13 points and three steals. Harrison continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Kadynce Delt, who posted nine points in addition to seven boards and four blocks.

Dale's victory bumped their record up to 29-2. As for Howe, the loss snapped their winning streak at nine games and leaves them with a 21-7 record.

Dale does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Howe, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 53-28 win against Calera on the 1st.
