Softball Game Preview: Riverview Raiders vs. Robinson Senators

The Riverview Raiders and the Robinson Senators, after both having extra time off, will shake off the rust and duke it out at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Riverview is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.

Riverview lost 12-2 to Pangburn last Thursday. That's two games in a row now that the Raiders have lost by exactly ten runs.

Meanwhile, Robinson got themselves on the board against Abundant Life last Thursday, but Abundant Life never followed suit. They were the clear victors by a 15-0 margin over the Owls. Considering the Senators have won five matchups by more than ten runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Ashley Miller made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Miller was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Mady Hokams was incredible, firing off two home runs and seven RBI while going 2-for-3. Those seven RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mallie Johnston, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Robinson was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .650. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Robinson has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. The team dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 15.3 runs. As for Riverview, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.
