Baseball Recap: Caston Gets the Win

Caston had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the ten-run drubbing they dealt Oregon-Davis on Thursday. The Comets never let the Bobcats get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The Comets haven't had any issues with the Bobcats recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

The result came thanks to Carson Harness's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Logan Mollenkopf, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two triples gave him a new career-high. Gavin Mollenkopf was another key player, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Caston always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .559. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Oregon-Davis only posted an OBP of .261.

Caston's victory bumped their record up to 14-3. As for Oregon-Davis, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.
