            Softball Recap: Edsel Ford Thunderbirds vs. Carlson Marauders        
        
		
        
        
            Edsel Ford extended their losing streak  to eight  on Monday, dropping their season record down to 1-12 in the process. They came up short against  the Carlson Marauders, falling  18-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Marauders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  16-1  back in April.
As for Carlson, they moved to 10-10 with that  win, which also ended their three-game losing streak. They might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six matchups by eight  runs or more this season.
For Carlson's part,  Addison Skinner was a  major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out eight batters over  three innings while giving up just one earned run off   four  hits (and not a single walk). Skinner has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  given up  more than one  walk in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  earning two  RBI and one  run.
 In other batting news, Carlson got a  massive  performance out of  Taylor Konkus, who  went 3-for-4 with three  runs and two  RBI. That's the most  hits  Konkus has posted  over her last six  contests. Another player making a difference was  Isabelle Salas, who  went 2-for-3 with three  RBI and two  runs.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Edsel Ford will head out to  challenge Western International  at 4:30  p.m.  on Wednesday. As for Carlson, they will venture away from home to  square off against Woodhaven  at 4:30  p.m.  on Wednesday.
