If Blue Springs South wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Lee's Summit West, they should've done a better job of containing Andi Gardner. The Titans blew past the Jaguars 3-0 on Tuesday thanks in part to Gardner, who had 20 digs and one assist. She has been hot recently, having posted 20 or more digs the last four times she's played.
The final score came out to 25-18, 25-21, 25-16.
Meanwhile, Blue Springs lost 3-0 to Lee's Summit North on Tuesday.
Blue Springs was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the second set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-14, 25-22, 25-12.
Lee's Summit West will have to keep a close watch on Anna Watkiss and Callie Andes, a pair of players who had a big impact on Blue Springs' prior game. Watkiss had nine digs and one assist, while Andes had eight digs and one assist.
Blue Springs' loss dropped their record down to 10-13. As for Lee's Summit West, their victory bumped their record up to 17-2.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's match: Lee's Summit West has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 5.9 aces per game. However, it's not like Blue Springs struggles in that department as they've been averaging 6.8 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
