Baseball Game Preview: Nevada Tigers vs. Clinton Cardinals

Nevada is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Clinton is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Tigers will host the Cardinals at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

While Nevada's victory against Monett wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Tigers skirted past the Cubs 3-1. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Cubs recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Clinton duked it out with Warrensburg on Thursday. The Cardinals had just enough and edged out the Tigers 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Cardinals have posted against the Tigers since April 28, 2016.

Nevada's win bumped their record up to 11-7. As for Clinton, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season.

Nevada took their victory against Clinton in their previous meeting back in May of 2023 by a conclusive 10-0 score. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Cardinals have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
