On Monday, Pinecrest Academy Cadence faced Chaparral in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Pinecrest Academy Cadence Cougars were the clear victor by a 33-13 margin over the Chaparral Cowboys. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matches by 20 points or more this season.

Pinecrest Academy Cadence's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Danielle Maurer, who rushed for 99 yards and two touchdowns on only ten carries. That's the most rushing yards Maurer has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Leyton Gasperosky, who threw for 197 yards and three touchdowns while completing 81.5% of her passes.

When it comes to explaining why Chaparral lost, don't look at Sybol Hardinger. Despite the final result, she threw for 201 yards and two touchdowns. Chaparral also got a significant boost from Asia Washington, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 82 yards.

Pinecrest Academy Cadence's victory was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-4. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 27.2 points. As for Chaparral, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-2.

Pinecrest Academy Cadence didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 34-7 win against Faith Lutheran on the 9th. As for Chaparral, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 7-6 victory against Clark on the 9th.
