Baseball Recap: Suffield Academy Snaps Four-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Suffield Academy was not the first on the board on Friday, but they got there more often. They won by a run and slipped past the Mount St. Charles Academy Mounties 5-4.

At the plate, Joe Banks and Gabriel Rivera did most of the damage at the plate: Banks went 2-for-3 with two runs, while Rivera got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI. Suffield Academy is 2-1 when Banks posts two or more runs, but 1-3 otherwise.

Suffield Academy's victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-4. As for Mount St. Charles Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8-1 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Suffield Academy will welcome Frederick Gunn at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Highlanders have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.5 runs per game on average), something the Tigers will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Mount St. Charles Academy, they will square off against Northfield Mount Hermon at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday.
