Anthem Prep is a perfect 5-0 against Desert Heights Prep since March of 2023 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Eagles will welcome the Yote at 3:00 p.m. Anthem Prep is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 11 runs per game this season.
Having struggled with four losses in a row, Anthem Prep turned things around against Maryvale Prep on Wednesday. They put the hurt on the Matador with a sharp 25-2 victory. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Eagles considering their one-run performance the contest before.
Grace Stillwell made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. She was even better at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs.

In other batting news, Bailey McCabe was incredible, firing off six RBI, four runs, and four doubles while going 4-for-4. Those four doubles gave her a new career-high. Abigail Purvis was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while going 3-for-4.
Anthem Prep was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .543. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, Desert Heights Prep lost 20-5 to Bagdad on Thursday. The Yote have struggled against the Sultans recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost meeting.
Bayli Johnson was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in both of her plate appearances. The team also got some help courtesy of Kloi Von Tobel, who scored two runs while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.
Anthem Prep's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Desert Heights Prep, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.
Desert Heights Prep's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Friday. Anthem Prep has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.3 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Desert Heights Prep, though, as they've been averaging only 3.6 strikeouts. Will Anthem Prep keep running through batters, or will the Yote buck the trend?
Anthem Prep took their victory against Desert Heights Prep in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 20-1 score. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Yote have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
