It was a good run, but A.L. Brown unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Hickory Ridge Bulls by a score of 8-7. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bulls this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-6 back in March.

Isabella Butler was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Myla McNeely was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

A.L. Brown's loss dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Hickory Ridge, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-5.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A.L. Brown will head out to take on Phillip O. Berry Academy of Technology at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cardinals have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 11.75 runs per game on average), something the Wonders will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Hickory Ridge, they will head out on the road to face off against West Cabarrus at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bulls' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolverines have averaged an impressive 9.1 runs per game this season.
