North Boone had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.4 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Stillman Valley Cardinals a 15-0 shutout. Considering the Vikings have won 13 contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

North Boone's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Stillman Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. North Boone will face off against Hinckley-Big Rock at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Stillman Valley, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Oregon at 4:30 p.m. The Cardinals are facing the Hawks at the right time seeing as the Hawks are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
