Fairfax HomeSchool is 8-2 against Southern Maryland Christian Academy since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Hawks will head out to  challenge the Mustangs  at 10:00  a.m. Fairfax HomeSchool will be strutting in after a  victory while Southern Maryland Christian Academy will be coming in after a  defeat.
On Thursday, Fairfax HomeSchool earned  a  6-2 win over Riverdale Baptist. The Hawks haven't had any issues with the Crusaders recently, as the game was their third consecutive  victory against them.

 Cenzo Gonder looked comfortable as he  tossed two innings while giving up   no  earned runs off   one  hit. Fairfax HomeSchool is 2-1 when  Gonder allows three or  fewer  earned runs, but 6-7 otherwise.
 On the hitting side, Fairfax HomeSchool's win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was  Caleb Alberts, who  went 1-for-3 with one  stolen base, one  double,  and one  RBI. Another  was  Braylen Miller, who  scored a  run while going 3-for-4.
Meanwhile, Southern Maryland Christian Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight  loss. They fell  12-9 to Bishop McNamara.
 Marcus Blaqman put in work no matter where he played. He  pitched 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned  (and one unearned) run off   four  hits. He has been consistent : he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate,  scoring two  runs while going 1-for-5.
 In other batting news,  Caden Cary made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  went 3-for-5 with four  RBI and one  double. That  double marked the first that  he  hit this season.  Isaiah Priester was another key player,  scoring three  runs while going 1-for-5.
 The  victory  got Fairfax HomeSchool back to even at 8-8. As for Southern Maryland Christian Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6.
Southern Maryland Christian Academy's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them:  Fairfax HomeSchool has hit smart this season,  having  averaged  an OBP of .463. It's a different story for Southern Maryland Christian Academy, though, as  they've  only  averaged .348. Will they be able to contain Fairfax HomeSchool's hitters?
 Fairfax HomeSchool took their  win against Southern Maryland Christian Academy  in their previous matchup  back in April of 2024 by a conclusive  13-3 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Hawks since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
