Baseball Recap: Beachwood Comes Up Short

The matchup between Beachwood and Chagrin Falls on Thursday hardly resembled the 2-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Bison fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 12-11. The Bison were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Tigers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2025.

Gavi Lappen led a balanced group of hitters, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with three runs. Ethan Malek was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Beachwood has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season. As for Chagrin Falls, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-6.

Coming up, Beachwood will welcome South at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Chagrin Falls, they will head out on the road to square off against St. Vincent-St. Mary at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday.
