There's no place like home for the Columbus Cardinals, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. Everything went their way against Palacios on Tuesday as Columbus made off with a 51-26 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Columbus also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Columbus' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Anaya Gardner led the charge by scoring 22 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Gardner has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Karlee Mathis, who scored nine points along with eight assists and six rebounds.
Columbus' victory bumped their record up to 21-10. As for Palacios, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 19-14 record this season.
Columbus will face off against Randolph at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Randolph will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Columbus surely won't give up without a fight. Palacios does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
