Softball Recap: Immokalee Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Immokalee can bid farewell to their six-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 15-1 margin over the Cypress Lake Panthers. The high-scoring effort was just what the Indians needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Immokalee let Aniyah Martinez and Leyah Rodriguez run wild. Martinez scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3, while Rodriguez scored two runs while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave Martinez a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Kaylee Perez, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2.

Immokalee was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .704. They are 5-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Immokalee's victory bumped their record up to 8-14. As for Cypress Lake, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-12.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Immokalee will square off against Clewiston at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Indians are facing the Tigers at the right time seeing as the Tigers are stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Cypress Lake, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Gateway at 6:30 p.m. on the 22nd.
