On Thursday, Webb faced Knoxville Catholic in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Webb Spartans walked away with a 61-54 victory over the Knoxville Catholic Fighting Irish. The win was familiar territory for the Spartans who have now won nine matches in a row.

Despite the loss, Knoxville Catholic still got an impressive performance from Carson Asbaty, who almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance gave Asbaty a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cade Murphy, who went 6 for 10 en route to 15 points and five boards.

Webb's victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 23-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.3 points per game.
