Soccer Recap: Santiago Finds Home Pitch Redemption Against King

There's no place like home for Santiago, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. Their defense stepped up to hand the King Wolves a 2-0 shutout on Wednesday. Given the Sharks' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 131st, while Wolves are ranked 406th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Santiago pushed their record up to 6-3-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored nine goals over those three games. As for King, they now have a losing record at 5-6-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Santiago will host Norco at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for King, they and Centennial will meet in a dog eat dog contest at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. King's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.
