Softball Game Preview: Tascosa Rebels vs. Coronado Mustangs

The Tascosa Rebels will face off against the Coronado Mustangs at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Tascosa will be strutting in after a victory while Coronado will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with four defeats in a row, Tascosa turned things around against Palo Duro on Friday. They put the hurt on the Dons with a sharp 15-2 win. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Kaylei San Miguel was incredible, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Reece Corea was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Meanwhile, Coronado didn't have quite enough to beat Lubbock on Friday and fell 10-9.

Coronado has also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season. Tascosa's victory bumped their record up to 14-15.

Tascosa suffered a grim 26-0 defeat to Coronado when the teams last played back in April of 2016. Can Tascosa avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
