Baseball Recap: West Harrison Comes Up Short

Thursday just wasn't the day for West Harrison's offense. They fell just short of the Picayune Maroon Tide by a score of 1-0 on Thursday. The Hurricanes haven't had much luck with the Maroon Tide recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Ryan Seymour spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits. He has become a key player for West Harrison: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-9 otherwise.

West Harrison's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Picayune, their win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-2.

While West Harrison had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
