Softball Recap: Prescott Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

Prescott's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Monday. They never let the Mingus Marauders get on the board and left with a 12-0 win. Considering the Badgers have won seven contests by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Kaylin Pinarelli made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk in ten consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.

In other batting news, Amilya Zahn was incredible, going 3-for-5 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in March. Olivia Butler was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Prescott always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .649. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mingus only posted an OBP of .222.

The victory snapped Prescott's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 14-9 record. As for Mingus, they dropped their record down to 3-18 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight at home.

Prescott will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Marauders: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
