Soccer Game Preview: Schaumburg vs. Elgin

The Schaumburg Saxons will take on the Elgin Maroons at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday.

Schaumburg had taken Bartlett down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Thursday. Schaumburg fell just short of Bartlett by a score of 1-0. That's two games in a row now that Schaumburg have lost by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Elgin put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They never let Dundee-Crown get on the board and left with a 3-0 win. The score was close at halftime, but Elgin pulled away in the second half with two goals.

This is the second loss in a row for Schaumburg and nudges their season record down to 0-2. As for Elgin, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.

Schaumburg took their win against Elgin in their previous meeting back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 4-0. Will Schaumburg repeat their success, or does Elgin has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
