Concord Christian came tearing into Friday's contest with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 28.6 points), and they left with even more momentum. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the First Baptist Academy Eagles 66-63. While the Lions didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-18), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Concord Christian's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for First Baptist Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.
