Whitney Young came tearing into Wednesday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Taft Eagles 70-37. The Dolphins have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven games by 29 points or more this season.

Whitney Young found their leader in freshman Jordyn Ellis, who almost dropped a double-double on 12 points and nine rebounds. Yanni Smith was another key player, putting up 13 points.

Whitney Young smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in four consecutive contests.

Whitney Young is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. Whitney Young (ranked 34th) will meet Incarnate Word Academy (ranked second) at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday. Meanwhile, Taft (ranked 336th) will meet Lane Tech (ranked 126th) at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
