Basketball Recap: Leake Academy Beats Pillow Academy for Their Sixth Straight Victory

Leake Academy had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 39.4 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Monday. They enjoyed a cozy 70-54 win over the Pillow Academy Mustangs. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 73-55 two weeks ago.

Leading Leake Academy to victory were Sarah Prince and Jenna Allen. Prince shot 60% from the field on her way to 27 points in addition to six boards and three steals, while Allen went 7-for-17 en route to 21 points and four steals. That's the most steals Allen has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kylee Boykin, who put up six points and six rebounds.

Leake Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 15 assists. They are a perfect 6-0 when they've passed the ball that well.

Leake Academy's record is now 7-2. As for Pillow Academy, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-3.

Looking ahead, Leake Academy won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Tupelo at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Pillow Academy, they will venture away from home to face off against Kirk Academy at 7:00 p.m. on December 2.
