Savannah Country Day waltzed into their matchup on Monday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They came out on top against the Toombs County Bulldogs by a score of 53-41. Given the Hornets' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 160th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 444th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Arianna Hill, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 rebounds. Brinley Miller was another key player, putting up eight points and eight boards.

Savannah Country Day's win bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Toombs County, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season.
