Soccer Recap: Croatan Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Croatan was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They lost 8-1 to the Topsail Pirates. While losing is never fun, Croatan can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 319th, while Topsail are ranked 128th).

Croatan's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7-1. As for Topsail, they now have a winning record of 4-3-2.

Coming up, Croatan will head out on the road to square off against New Bern at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. New Bern will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Croatan surely won't give up without a fight. As for Topsail, they will look to defend their home pitch on Monday against Heide Trask at 6:00 p.m. Topsail will be up against Heide Trask's rather soft defense (which has allowed 3.29 goals per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
