Basketball Recap: East Duplin Comes Up Short

After soaring to 66 points the game before, East Duplin was a bit more limited in their contest on Thursday. They were outmatched by the Southwest Onslow Stallions and fell 68-28. The loss continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Stallions: they've now lost seven in a row.

When it comes to explaining why East Duplin lost, don't look at Calvin Harper. Despite the final result, he posted 12 points. What's more, Harper also posted three assists, the most he's had since back in December of 2024.

East Duplin's defeat dropped their record down to 11-10. As for Southwest Onslow, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-3 record this season.

East Duplin has already played their next game, a 68-54 loss against North Lenoir on the 17th. As for Southwest Onslow, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 59-26 victory against South Lenoir on the 17th.
