Volleyball Recap: Shoals Takes a Loss

After flying high against West Washington last Thursday, Shoals came back down to earth. The Jug Rox lost 3-0 to the Bedford North Lawrence Stars on Thursday. The Jug Rox have struggled against the Stars recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

While Shoals was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Bedford North Lawrence's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-15, 25-20, 25-22.

Shoals' offense was headlined by Emmalyn McNabb and Brazelea Lents, who picked up four kills apiece. They got some help from Rylee Bauer and her 12 assists.

Shoals' loss dropped their record down to 15-3. As for Bedford North Lawrence, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-7.

Shoals didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Loogootee on the 19th. As for Bedford North Lawrence, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Orleans at 6:00 p.m.
