Softball Recap: Goldthwaite Finds Home Field Redemption Against Junction

There's no place like home for Goldthwaite, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over Junction on Monday. Considering Goldthwaite has won seven matches by more than nine runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Danika Macias made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up just two earned runs off eight hits. Macias was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Addisyn Howard, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. Rylee Greenway was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 1-for-2.

Goldthwaite's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-10. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Junction, they moved to 10-16 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Coming up, Goldthwaite will head out on the road to square off against Eula at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Junction, they will square off against Harper at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
